Description:
This church reflects the themes of light, space, and order, offering a sanctuary for 3,000 catholic worshipers per sitting on two levels. Spacious meeting halls, music rooms, and dedicated catechism classrooms seamlessly blend into the architecture, supporting a diverse range of spiritual and community gatherings. Inspired by the story of Noah’s Ark, the design invites a sense of shelter, unity, and resilience. The iconic curved roofs and slanting pillars mimic the ensemble of Noah’s Ark as depicted in Bible stories. The result is a place of warmth, harmony, and purpose, reflecting both the rich heritage and the forward-looking vision of the congregation of Syokimau. Use of murals on the windows depicts the story of Jesus and the apostles but also diffuse the light intensity into the interior spaces.
