K.U.P Model Schools – Got Nyabondo Primary School

Country: Kenya

Description:

Perched on the scenic rolling hills at the boundary of Kisumu and Nandi counties, Got Nyabondo Primary School occupies an extraordinary location. Accessed from the Gambogi-Serem road at Kaseta Junction via a murram road, the school’s master plan required a thoughtful and complex approach to adapt to the challenging terrain.

The architectural vision for Got Nyabondo necessitated the initial construction of a temporary facility to accommodate staff and students, as the existing structures had been deemed unsafe and condemned by Kisumu County. Given the steep landscape, the main classroom block was ingeniously designed with three levels to comfortably house the student population.

Careful provision was made to interlink the classrooms with the administration block, enabling smooth operations despite the sloping environment. Most structures were strategically positioned near the main access and feeder roads junction, maximizing space for essential activities, particularly sports. This unique layout not only respects the natural topography but also creates a dynamic learning environment, truly setting Got Nyabondo apart.
