Angira Primary School, located in the suburban Kajulu West area of Kisumu County near Mamboleo, is part of the Kisumu Urban Projects (KUP) model schools initiative. This school was chosen for redevelopment with a particular focus on accommodating Persons with Disabilities (PWD), as it includes a dedicated special-needs classroom.
The architectural approach centered on preserving the existing indigenous trees, which contribute to the school’s natural ambiance. The new master plan strategically integrates these natural elements by carefully circumventing existing trees and buildings, resulting in a vibrant layout that enhances social spaces and promotes community engagement, in alignment with the needs and preferences of the school’s users.
