Description of Project: A chapel for the East African School of Aviation. This project entails the design of a chapel for the East Africa School of Aviation, in Embakasi, which incorporates all the Christian Denominations represented by the student’s population. The general form of the building was influenced by new materials and bio mimic architecture. The design alludes to dynamic natural forms albeit poetic, influenced by nature, sustainability and new technology which influenced the final built form. The project is an exemplar of use of new materials to enable faster possession of the building. It incorporated the use of EPS(Expanded Polystyrene)Panels, concrete and tubular framed structural elements and alucobond cladding to achieve this.
